| A warp-ikat sarong from Savu, Indonesia's eastern province, measuring 60" in length and 26" wide. The sarong is decorated with floral bands and birds which represent the upper world of powerful and protective ancestors. Woven on a backstrap loom with hand-spun and naturally dyed cotton. This was sewn into a long tube that is worn folded above the breasts and gathered up and secured at the waist. |
