| Timor is a long arid island which lies to the north of Australia. In particular the western half has many centers for fine warp-ikat and supplementary-warp decorated textiles. This supplementary-warp textile with bright colored figurative and thematic motifs measuring 49" in length and 25" wide was sewn into a long tube that is worn folded above the breasts and gathered up and secured at the waist. |
