| An old warp ikat textile from Savu, Indonesia's eastern province decorated with floral bands and measuring 63" in length and 23" wide. The flower motifs are derived from the patola pattern on Indian trade cloths. Woven on a backstrap loom with hand-spun and naturally dyed cotton. This was sewn into a long tube that is worn folded above the breasts and gathered up and secured at the waist. |
