| An old Moba figure from the people of Togo and northeastern Ghana. Moba diviners influence and direct the planning, design and ritual use of tchitcheri figures. Moba figures are protective and promote health and prosperity. These figures which are reduced to an elemental, symbolic form do not represent a particular person or ancestor but are an individual's direct link with God. This Moba figure was used for a personal shrine and measures 16" in height. |
