| A very old and well carved Kuba mask from the people of the DRC ~ formerly Zaire. The high quality of Kuba art, as is indictative of this mask, is found at every level of society. This mask known as Isheene Mwalu may have been worn in connection with dances and initiations. This realistically carved mask with subtle abstractions measures 14" in height. The age of the mask is quite evident through the dark, warm patina and the obvious wear. |
