An old and nicely carved Suku figure from the DRC~ formerly Zaire.  Figure sculpture of the Suku people appears to have been strongly influenced by the neighboring Yaka, although far more conservative in its treatment f facial features and coiffure.  This figure with it's coffee-bean eyes, triangular nose and attractive coiffure measures 14" in height.
